The Bohol Experience

Posted at 08:00 PM on June 12, 2009 Comments comments (4)

There were so many wonderful memories that were forged during the 14th Grand Assembly Session at Bohol Island, Philippines. The Island of Bohol is such an awesome place that some of the girls wanted to go back and spend some holiday time there with their families (and barkadas too!). The tour to the wonders of Bohol, such as to the Chocolate Hills, through the Loboc River, and even Dolphin Watching at Pamilacan was just some of the most exhilarating experiences that the girls have encountered.

There were first time attendees, while others have been to previous GAs already. We even had foreign delegates to add to our list!

As webmaster and member of the Grand Execom, I would like to thank everyone who used this site as a venue for interaction prior to the Grand Session. I would like to thank, most especially, Mom Lorraine Rayner, from Adelaide, SA, Australia, who responded with such enthusiasm online that she was able to finally join us in our Grand Session together with three (3) Grand Delegates from the Grand Assembly of New South Wales and South Australia, Australia. To Sisters Felicia and Kimberley Rodeghiero and Gabby Robbins, your presence in our Grand Session are a sight to behold. We are glad that you had the most fun you could ever imagine (especially riding those trykes from downtown and having one of those break down on the way to Bohol Plaza, wehehe...'twas hilarious indeed! LOL!)

We were also graced by so many talented girls from different Assemblies. Wow! We had a great time during the Talents' Night where the girls showed off so many wonderful talents in singing, dancing, acting and cheerleading! These girls are WONDERFUL!

To all the winners of the Ritualistic Contests, my warmest felicitations! You have indeed proved that you could deliver pieces with such passion and dedication. To the Assemblies with the "Most Number of Initiates" as well as those with the "Most Number of Delegates", CONGRATULATIONS! With your Assemblies' efforts to bring forth so many new girls into our wonderful order as well as encouraging so many to be part of our Grand Session is such a great blessing and honor to our Host Assembly. Without your presence, we could not have had a very successful Grand Session.

To our dearest Grand Master of the F&AM of the Philippines, Most Worshipful Dad Peter Lim Lo Suy, and also to Past Grand Master, Most Worshipful Dad Pacifico Aniag, we are so delighted that you have graced our affair. We are so honored to have you in most of our activities during the 3-day affair at Bohol Island. Thank you so much for being there with us and for supporting the cause of our Order.

And lastly, I would like to convey my sincerest congratulations to the newly installed Grand Officers, Grand Representatives and Grand Executive Board Members. We will soon be busy once more for the preparation of the 15th Grand Session at San Pablo, Laguna.

Let's make more wonderful Rainbow Dreams come true, sisters!

Forever the Rainbow!!!

The participants attentively listened to the lecture and learned a few songs ("Smile" , "Being Together", "Kung Sama-sama Tayo", etc.) A short inspiring movie entitled " Armed With Hope" was shown. 13th Grand Assembly Session a SUCCESS!!

Posted at 04:33 PM on June 01, 2007 Comments comments (0)
Hello Sisters! I'm proud to announce to everyone that we had a very successful and lively 13th Grand Assembly Session at Pearlmont Inn, Cagayan de Oro City last May 25-27, 2007.

Most of our guests arrived on the 24th of May (Thursday). They were the Supreme and Grand delegates. They were greeted by the Anthurium girls, moms and dads at the Airport. Then they had a brief city tour, escorted by two motorcops, and had a hearty EAT-ALL-YOU-CAN Breakfast at Sunburst, LimKetKai, before they rested at Pearlmont Inn (convention venue). By 11AM, the Supreme and Grand delegates had a courtesy call at the Mayor's office. The incumbent Mayor, Hon. Vicente Emano, is also a Dad Mason and one of the major sponsors of the 13th GA. Then we had a hearty lunch at Butcher's Best, where the best SISIG in town in found.Later in the afternoon, we helped out in building a house during the Grand Charity Work through the Habitat for Humanity.

On the 25th (Friday), we registered for the Convention and in the morning, we had our Grand Cross of Colors Ceremony. In the afternoon, we had our informal opening with the introduction of all the guests. We were exceptionally delighted by the presence of our very special guest, Most Worshipful Dad Jaime Y. Gonzales, the Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the Philippines, who graced our event as our Speaker during the Grand Worthy Advisor's Night. We had different presentation numbers during the program and MW Dad Jimmy was very pleased at how talented our girls are. He was also happy with the great attendance during the 13th Grand Session, which we really are so proud of, because without the presence of everyone who attended our Session, it wouldn't be as lively and fun as it had turned out to be. After each Assembly has presented their numbers, we had invited a special dance instructor (a brother of a DeMolay) who lead us in our LINE DANCING. It was so much fun!

By Saturday, we had our different activities, including the initiation of our Grand Initiate, Sis Laurianne Batinga and the Grand Installation. Some of the girls and their moms went out to enjoy the rest of their night at SM's club together with other Dads and Brother DeMolays. It was a family fun night outing.

Then on Sunday morning, we had our Sunday Service with such a wonderful message from our guest Pastor. Afterwhich, we divided our group into two. One group went out to enjoy the Whitewater River Rafting while a second group had their tour at the Ostrich Farm. Then both groups met at lunch at Cocobay Resort. Oh it was so wonderful!!! Then the rest of the afternoon was spent shopping for souvenirs at LimKetKai Mall and a taste of the different cuisines at Kagay-anon Restaurant and Cucina de Oro.Later in the evening, some girls had some nightlife fun with Mom Norie, Sis McKenna, Mom Cindy and Dad Matt, and Dad Jon Olivier together with other Majority Girls and Senior DeMolays at M2, where they sang their hearts out at the family videoke room.

We had a wonderful wonderful Grand Assembly Session. To all our wonderful sponsors, thank you so much for helping us make it truly memorable for the girls. And to all of the attendees, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! We enjoyed every moment with you.
